On The Go Beauty Kit Essentials

When you are on the go, it is always a good idea to have a little bag of all your essential products ready to throw into your handbag as you run out the door.

A beauty kit is great to keep in the car for emergency touch ups, or in your gym bag so that after your workout and shower you can walk out of the gym ready for dinner or any other work or social events.

I know everyone is different and may have different essentials, but my personal list goes as follows…

– SPF
– CONCEALER
– POWDER
– BRONZER
– FACIAL MIST
– MASCARA
– LIPSTICK
– PERFUME

SPF:
This is an extremely important beauty essential and you should include it in your daily beauty regime to ensure your skin is protected from the aging effects of the sun. Even if you don’t think you are out doors much, you can get accidental skin damage just from driving around in your car. So please make sure SPF is an essential in your personal beauty kit. It can also act as a moisturizer before putting on your makeup so it really does come in handy.

CONCEALER & BRUSH:
We can’t live without this baby, because let’s be honest, it’s the only thing that hides dark circles under the eyes after a long day at work. As soon as you apply it, and those dark circles are hidden, it really does make us look more awake and refreshed. It also covers any small blemishes and gives the skin an over-all more even toned look.

POWDER & BRUSH:
Powder is great if you are like me, and you don’t wear foundation during the day. It sill provides enough coverage but looks natural at the same time. A dusting of powder over your concealer to give your skin a more finished look is all you need. However, if you do wear foundation during the day and you are going somewhere straight from work – using a bit of powder will only refresh your look without making your makeup look heavy.

BRONZER & BRUSH:
Once I have applied my concealer and powder, I like a very slight colour and sheen to my skin, to achieve a dewy, fresh look, and this is where the bronzer comes in. Again, I apply a very light dusting of bronzer over my eyelids, the apples of my cheeks, cheek bones, temples, and on my jaw line. This subtly highlighs the bone structure of the face and gives the skin a gorgeous healthy glow.

EYEBROW BRUSH & EYE SHADOW:
Yes, I use eye shadow on my eyebrows. I know most people use an eyebrow pencil to fill in gaps and define the shape of their brows, but I prefer to achieve this with a thin angled eyebrow brush and some natural-brown eye shadow. I feel it achieves the same thing, but in a softer way. I love defined, statement brows, but because I am blonde, I can’t make my eyebrows too dark – it just doesn’t look right. So, for me personally, an eyebrow brush works better.

FACIAL MIST:
Facial mist not only refreshes your skin and cools you down on a hot day, but it moisturizes your skin and sets your makeup perfectly. This beauty essential definitely makes your makeup last longer, and keeps your skin hydrated. You can apply it before or after putting on your makeup, and as many times as you feel your skin needs over the duration of a day. Facial mist is especially useful when traveling because flying for long hours does dry the skin.

MASCARA:
In my opinion, mascara makes our eyes pop more than any other eye makeup, so it is my number one beauty essential.

LIPSTICK:
During the day I like to keep my makeup as natural as possible, and go for a ‘less is more’ look. So, whether I wear lipstick (more than likely), or lip-gloss, I will always opt for nude browns, pastel pinks or even clear gloss.

PERFUME:
Smelling good is definitely important to me, so a mini bottle of one of my favourite scents is always in my beauty kit. The smaller bottles are so useful, and are great to help you freshen up on the go!

So, there you go, under 10 essentials to have ready and packed for any occasion. Once in their little beauty kit bag they don’t take up any room, and trust me, they will come in handy more than you realize!
